undertale
/ˈʌndəteɪl/
what is there to say about this game that hasn't already been said. undertale is the definition of a masterpiece. it's brilliant.
i find that i love art that's identity is deeply rooted in it's medium and undertale is a perfect example of that.
undertale is a parody of games, not in the comedic sense (although a lot of it's appeal does come from Toby Fox' humour) but in the sense that it's core as "the rpg where no one has to get hurt", is in direct contrast to the culture of combat that's permeated almost all of gaming
to be clear, undertale isn't a rejection of combat. mechanically speaking, it's a crossbreed between jrpgs and bullet hells.
