first random encounter hunt so given that this is my longest hunt (by encounters) so far and given my track record of my first hunt of a method being low odds, i'm not looking forward to my next random encounter hunt. if i had a nickel for every time i caught a blue shiny while being lowk depressed at the start of the year (holy grasp) i'd have two nickels. it was to the point that i barely reacted, i was happy but the fly on my wall wouldn't have known. caught on new years which is unironically a once in a life time thing especialy for a full odds hunt :D

first ever random shiny :D too bad it's a pokémon that i lowk dgaf about but at least i could make a few "gulpin deez nuts" jokes about her >:). named her pancham? because i was looking for a (not necasarily shiny) pancham on my y playthrough (pancham ended up being boxed :( ) when she shined

continuing the trend of my first hunt of a method being really fucking under-odds, this was my first starter hunt :3. first shiny of a black dtq. i like the idea of picking back up the dtq every time i get the urge to replay gen v. although i love dewott and dewott is my baby and dewott is the best, i don't really fw dewott's shiny all that much and i really love emboar's shiny. on top of that, tepig is the starter that you pick if you don't touch the dpad so it made it the easiest to hunt. named him peppa bc peeg. i swear i remember wanting to name him daddy pig. idk why i didn't, i think i just fucking forgot

i thought that you got shiny charm from completing unova dex but it turns out you get it from completing the national dex, or in other words, catching all 649 pokémon from generations 1 through 5. fuck that. who even needs a shiny charm anyway. i didn't even want it :'). i'll end up working my way back through the older games eventually so i don't doubt that i'll get the shiny charm at some point, i'm not worried

i initially wasn't going to include my guaranteed shinies but although they're guarenteed, there was still a hunt for them and i still have memories from the hunt so yeah, they're here. i lowk don't remember much from the white tree hollow but i remember liking it. i think i got lucky a few times :). i used to not really like dragonite's shiny but i've somewhat warmed up to it. i named him Hollow after the white tree hollow which i had to beat to get this shiny

i hunted Imagine in the water of the great marsh because i didn't want to phase on a non wooper line but after Imagine i moved to the grass where a few things were on the table but i was still hoping for a quagsire so that Imagine could have a friend. I ended up extending the hunt until the end of June because i was in nigeria when safari week ended and i couldn't really be fucked switching hunts. my longest hunt by encounters and it'll only grow once i come back to it next safari week

my most under-odds hunt by a fair margin while also being my (tied) rarest :D. my first safari week shiny and i worry she's done irreprable damage to my phsyche going into future safari weeks. I caught her during my platinum playthrough and so i used her on my team because i couldn't not and she ended up reaching lvl 51 and counting without evolving bc i knew i would be continuing hunting in the safari zone and i didn't want to risk phasing on a quagsire and ending up with a dupe. sadly not on my e4 team bc cynthia.png. i named her Imagine because i said "imagine if this shined" as she shined :3c. was watching https://youtu.be/3EqirjFOTGM?si=51cIJUKTFam77Ct3 when she shined

i hatched this lil guy during one of the darkest periods of my life :D not to full on trauma-post, i was depressed and entirely not talking to any of my friends and part of the reason that i broke the silence was because i wanted to show them my new shiny TwT. i was in my school's computer science study room when Study hatched and so i named him so that i could technically say that i was studying :))

i decided not to include my "modern" shinies because i'm lazy and lowk don't gaf about 95% of them. not that hunting them wasn't fun, the hunts were cool, it's just that i don't really have any memories of like any of them. Zoro over here is an exception however, because although i ended up catching them in an mmo, the hunt started out as a basic bitch random encounter hunt. shiny hisuian zoroark is also just probably my favourite shiny so i couldn't not include Zoro. i probably won't post about any "modern" shinies unless they're not "modern odds" so take Zoro as a stand in for all of my "modern" shinies (quotation marks bc it's not the age of the game, it's the effective odds of the hunt). although zoro wasn't my first shiny, they were the first shiny i hunted. i named them Zoro bc it's short for Zoroark
