Over-Underdogs

History

On the 14th of November 2020, 4 cis-het white men decided people needed to hear what they had to say (truly revolutionary), and so they blessed the masses with the first episode of The Underdogs Podcast.

On the 11th of June 2022, in episode 21, Dir. Cogger "Director Cogger" Cogger-Clee elevated the podcast to an unrivaled level of entertainement with the first instance of the podcast game Over-Underdogs.

In December of '24, in an effort to acquire a lemon (and to pass advanced higher computer science), I, Mx. Crow, turned the world famous podcast game into a website. At the time, I didn't know anything about hosting websites. I still don't, but neocities does :D (sadly neocities doesn't support php so the page has had to be adapted)

The original site used to keep track of your points but the neocities version will help you through the game. Grab a pen and piece of paper to keep track of your points get ready to answer 3 brand new hand crafted Over-Underdogs themed questions (I'm now realising that this is dogshit for people who are unfamiliar with the podcast :/).

Once you've read over the rules, press start to get going :D

(Or go back to the nest)

Rules

It's not that complicated. I promise :)
Over-Underdogs is a quiz where one player gives a numerical guess to a question, with the other two players then deciding whether they think the answer is over, under or (if you're confident) bang on the guess given by the first player.
Points are given as follows;

Case 1 - Player 1 gets it "bang on" (exactly correct)
  • Player 1 gets 3 points
  • If player 2 and/or 3 also guesses bang on, they also get 3 points
  • If player 2 and/or 3 guess either over or under, they get 0 points

Case 2 - Player 1's guess is under the correct answer
  • If players 2 and/or 3 guess over, they get 1 point
  • If both players 2 and 3 guess under, they both get 0 points and player 1 gets 2 points
  • If player 1 'splits the group' (i.e., players 2 and 3 have different guesses), player 1 gets 1 point

Case 3 - Player 1's guess is over the correct answer
  • If players 2 and/or 3 guess under, they get 1 point
  • If both players 2 and 3 guess over, they both get 0 points and player 1 gets 2 points
  • If player 1 'splits the group' (ie players 2 and 3 have different guesses), player 1 gets 1 point

For subsequent questions, the player who gets asked the question changes.
